You can find out who's pledged for Bookstart 20 on our website Join us and celebrate 20 years of Bookstart in the UK In 2012 we are celebrating everything that Bookstart has achieved, including the 30 million free books that we have been able to gift since the programme began in 1992. Bookstart 20 is our year-long campaign involving VIPs, authors, celebrities and thousands of people up and down the UK who are showing their support for us by making the Bookstart 20 pledge. The pledge is simple: to share 20 books in 2012.  You can do this personally by sharing picture books with your own children or other members of your family at bedtime; you might share books by reading to children in a school or a library, or in a crche. It’s entirely up to you. 2012 is a vital year for Bookstart as it is the last year of the current funding. The more pledges we get, the more we can demonstrate to the UK government the importance of Bookstart and the need for them to continue to fund the programme. > Find out more from Booktrust CEO Viv Bird A new way to order Bookstart support materials One of the benefits of being a Bookstart affiliate is that you can order support materials, such as rhymesheets, guidance booklets, recommended booklists and more.
