We are the world for Haiti

25년 전 마이클 잭슨(Michael Jackson)과 킨시 존스(Quincy Jones)는 한 목소리로 '위 아 더 월드'를 노래했다. 아프리카를 돕기 위한 자선의 노래였다. 그 해 1년이 안 되어 5천만 달러가 모였다고 한다. 그리고 25년이 지난 오늘, 유투브는 '아이티를 위한 위 아 더 월드'(We Are The World 25 for Haiti)의 영상을 내보내고 있다. 75명 이상의 가수와 배우들이 참여하여 지진 참사로 고통받고 있는 아이티인들을 위한 모금을 위해 한 목소리로 '위 아 더 월드'를 부른다.

 

이 영상을 보면서 드는 생각.

 

1. 25년 전에는 MTV였지만, 이제 YouTube가 그 매체가 되고 있다는 것.

2. IT 기술이 세계를 더 가깝게 만드는 데 크게 도움을 줄 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 그런 사례를 더 많이 만들어내는 데 기여할 수 있다는 것.

3. 신나고 짜리하다는 것. 위 아 더 월드, 위 아 더 칠드런....
